Previously, Amazon Video had all of the Top Gear seasons, but you had to buy them to watch. I’ve just discovered that series 2-17 have quietly been made free with Prime. If you don’t see me again it’s because I’ve wasted away on my couch.

Back when I was in college, 2011, I torrented every episode, over 100 GB of data, to that point on my school’s internet in one night.

Wow your school must have had good internet.

Georgia Tech was right next to a major hub. I did a speed test in ChemE computer lab one time when I was the only person in there, it was over 300 MB/s. It was ridiculous how good it was.

I’ve had every episode for free for a long time.
There’s a link on Reddit to a really good torrent of every single old old and old Top Gear episode including the specials. It’s something like 300 GB all in.

I liked TG at one time; had a few great laughs, too. But I came to a point where Clarkson was just too much of a knob and BBC flushed him and I lost interest. The remake, with that Matt guy, bleh.
All my money is on the Roadkill franchise.

Enjoy it while you can, because season 2 of The Grand Tour won’t be free for Prime members.

Saw this, was sad that I paid for most of them.

If you are planning a binge, Amazon skips S9E1 (Hammond’s dragster crash).

Have a source on that?

There was some stuff on TG that I found amusing, but I too couldn’t stand Clarkson* and got really, really tired of TG fans who acted like they knew everything about cars just because they could preface everything with “Well, Clarkson said...”
* seriously, I’ve had my absolute fill of British blowhards who think their role in life is to criticize Americans. If I had my way, Piers Morgan, Jeremy Clarkson, and Nick Denton would be stuffed in a crate and sent off to be handled by top men.
Top.
Men.
(oh, and just a Public Service Announcement: if you’re going to do a GIS for “top men,” be damn sure you have “SafeSearch” on.)

I remember i2hub. The peer to peer software for abusing internet 2 connections between campuses, which just about everybody on my floor in Smith on North Ave was using... So pirate. Many download. Much speed. Wow.

Sounds like Georgia Tech to me.

I think by the time I was in Hemphill i2hub had more or less gotten nuked. OH WELL

I don’t think I was around for that. When I was in the fraternity house my pledge brother/roommate was always torrenting stuff. Which could have been bad since we used a router that was under my name. They only seemed to get pissed if you downloaded movies thought, so I didn’t touch those.

Well... the job hunting maybe pushed back for a week or 2...

A roommate went berserk with games, anime, etc. etc. but only limited dipping into movies - though in the i2hub days, I don’t think GT’s packet sniffing was worth crap.

They must have gotten better, since I knew multiple who got warning letters from the OSI for torrenting movies.

I did exactly the same back in high school but downloaded it all on my surprisingly fast home internet. It must of not been a good quality as yours because remember that I carried them around on my (then new) 80GB iPod video.

I only got 720p cause I didn’t have enough storage space for 1080p.
